The Lords of 52nd Street

Billy Joel's Classic Music Recreated by the Actual Musicians Who Established his "New York Sound"

The Lords of 52nd Street is the legendary New York band that backed Billy Joel during his commercial peak in the 1970s and 1980s. Far from just a tribute act, they are the actual musicians who helped establish Billy Joel’s signature “New York sound,” contributing to the recording of iconic, multi-platinum albums like Turnstiles, The Stranger, 52nd Street, Glass Houses, and Songs in the Attic. Coined by Joel and legendary producer Phil Ramone, the core group consists of: Liberty DeVitto (Drums)Richie Cannata (Saxophone and Keyboards) and Russell Javors (Rhythm Guitar).
